MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - The situation in Ukraine has been discussed at a meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and British Ambassador to Russia Tim Barrow.
"There was an exchange of views on the pressing international and regional issues, with an emphasis on the problems concerning resolution of the internal political crisis in Ukraine," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website on Thursday.
The two diplomats stressed the importance of the launch of the negotiating process between Kyiv and representatives from Ukraine's southeast and the need for it to continue to find mutually acceptable solutions to the crisis, the Foreign Ministry said.
"Furthermore, the diplomats stressed the need to renounce the language of ultimatums which thwarts international efforts," the ministry said.
The meeting also focused on supporting the efforts of the OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine, the statement said.
