Situation in Donetsk relatively quiet - authorities

KYIV. June 27 (Interfax) - The situation remains quiet in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine on Friday morning, including in the city's district where a Ukrainian Armed Forces base that was taken over by militiamen is located, according to a report posted on Donetsk Mayor Oleksandr Lukyanenko's website.

"On the night of June 26 and June 27, following three attempts of storming, the last one of which began at 10:15 p.m., armed persons seized Military Unit No. 3004 of the Ukrainian Internal Troops in the Donetsk region. The situation near the military unit was calm as of 9:00 a.m. No traffic restrictions have been imposed in this district," the report says.

Utilities services, government agencies and public transport are operating as usual in Donetsk on Friday.
