South Ossetia's Security Council considers recognizing DPR

TSKHINVAL. June 27 (Interfax) - South Ossetia is considering the issue of recognizing the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the South Ossetian presidential administration told Interfax on Friday.

"President Leonid Tibilov has summoned the Security Council [meeting], at which this issue is being discussed," the administration said.

The request addressed to Tibilov which asked to recognize the DPR came with the signature of DPR Supreme Council Chairman Denis Pushilin.

South Ossetia recognized the independence of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic last week.
