LUHANSK. July 8 (Interfax) - Intelligence agents of the militia of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) have eliminated the commander of the Ukrainian "Kholodny Yar" unit, Yevhen Voitsekhovsky, in the town of Schastye near Luhansk, according to the Novorossiya agency.
"At around 5 a.m. this morning LPR intelligence agents committed an armed attack on the commandant's office of the invading forces in the town in the Luhansk region. The Ukrainian punitive troops sustained losses," the statement said.
"The attack killed Voitsekhovsky, the commander of the Kholodny Yar unit. He was born in the town of Kamenka, Cherkasy region, and lived in Smila, Cherkasy region. In nine days Voitsekhovsky would have turned 40," the statement said.
