MILAN. July 9 (Interfax) - Russian Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov and the head of the Italian Civilian Protection Department, Franco Gabrielli, met on the sidelines of the European ministerial meeting on disaster risk reduction held in Milan, and signed a protocol on broadening cooperation between the two government departments.
At the meeting Puchkov said that the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry is interested in Italy's experience in using radar scanning technologies to predict locations of future disasters.
"The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry is ready to continue further exchange of experience in this field and send its specialists to the Italian Civilian Protection Department to be trained in these technologies," he said.
The parties also discussed cooperation in training top managers in the field of crisis management and emergency response.
