MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax) - Seven members of illegal armed groups have been eliminated in Dagestan's Untsukul district over the parts two days, the Information Center of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) said on Tuesday evening.
Local police and security officers are conducting home and body searches as part of an ongoing counterterrorist operation the village of Maidanskoye.
During the security operation, two bandits opened fire against special-forces officers and tried to break through the special-forces siege of the area. During the ensuing clashes they were neutralized. An automatic rifle and a pistol were found at the scene. There are no losses among the law-enforcement personnel, no injured civilians, the NAC said.
"Thus, seven members of illegal armed groups have been killed in Dagestan in the past two days. They are currently being identified," the statement said.
