UralVagonZavod increases cooperation with foreign countries

MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax-AVN) - The number of countries, with which UralVagonZavod (UVZ) maintains military-technical cooperation, has almost tripled over the past few years, said Vyacheslav Khalitov, UVZ deputy director for special equipment.

"From the viewpoint of military-technical cooperation, we have set up many ventures with various countries. Consider the period of the last three or four years. The geography of the market has expanded significantly. There were seven countries with which we were setting up military-technical cooperation, there are already 17. Our traditional partners are India, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Venezuela," he said on the Ekho Moskvy radio on Tuesday.

"Speaking of volumes (of the military-technical cooperation), our sale of spare parts alone has now increased 7.2 times," Khalitov added.

He said the increase in spare parts' supplies was due to a rise in equipment sales.
