KYIV. July 11 (Interfax) - Ukrainian troops have seized control over the border checkpoint in Izvarino, Luhansk region, a spokesperson for the security operation said.
The troops completed the task of "restoring and unblocking the Ukrainian border" and taking the border checkpoints in Chervonopartizansk and Izvarino, the spokesperson said on Friday.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) said the Izvarino checkpoint is controlled by militia.
"Izvarino is under our control. There is no fighting there at this moment," the LPR spokesperson told Interfax on Friday.
"Currently, the checkpoint is closed because of a Ukrainian army sniper operating in that area," the spokesperson said.
