Donbas militiamen to discuss prisoner swap with OSCE officials - swap

MOSCOW. July 17 (Interfax) - Ukraine is not going to take part in the dialogue between militia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) on Thursday evening, a source in the contact group of the peace process in east Ukraine told Interfax.

"Today's event is neither consultations nor talks on the peace process. In fact, it lies beyond the negotiating format. Militiamen will contact OSCE representatives via video link and discuss with them as mediators the possibility of swapping prisoners," the source said.

He said the contact group has nothing to do with organizing the dialogue.

"We are not involved in any way in organizing this dialogue. The Ukrainian side will not be represented in it either. This dialogue is the personal initiative of certain individuals," the source said.

A day earlier the prime minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Oleksandr Borodai, said that the next round of consultations of the contact group on the peace process in east Ukraine will be held at 6 p.m. Kyiv time on Thursday, as a teleconference and will involve DPR government representatives.
