Putin, Merkel: Security guarantees must be provided to intl experts probing air crash

MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have held talks by telephone under an earlier reached agreement, the Kremlin press service reported on Sunday.

"The two leaders said in connection with the air crash in the Donetsk region on July 17 that, the conflicting parties should create all necessary conditions for an objective and independent international investigation, providing security guarantees to specialists in the first place," it said.

"The discussion of the severe crisis in Ukraine was continued. The Russian and German leaders reaffirmed priority importance of the earliest possible end to military operations and start of peace talks," the Kremlin press service said.
