U.S. to send its experts to probe Boeing crash in Ukraine

KYIV. July 21 (Interfax) - The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and FBI will send their representatives to investigate the crash of the Malaysian airliner in Donetsk region, U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt has announced.

"In support of int'l investigation NTSB will send at least one investigator and FBI is preparing to deploy at least one person to Ukraine," he twitted on Sunday.

NTSB is an independent U.S. agency investigating transport incidents. It investigates and documents all accidents in civil aviation, certain types of car accidents, accidents in transportation by sea, railway and pipelines. It helps foreign governments investigate military incidents at their request.

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing-777 crashed in East Ukraine on July 17 killing 298 people.

On July 18 an OSCE special monitoring mission arrived at the scene.

On July 19 132 experts from Malaysia arrived in Kyiv to study the situation.
