KYIV. July 21 (Interfax) - Last night was relatively calm in Donetsk, but the city woke up to the cannonade coming from the airport area in the morning, the Donetsk City Council said.
As of 9 a.m., heavy gunfire was heard from the airport in many areas of Donetsk.
The city public utility services are functioning. There was an emergency power outage in the Oktyabrsky neighborhood of the Kuibyshevsky district in the morning. Repairmen have been sent to the site.
The five-kilometer zone around the Donetsk airport is not safe, which has forced an alteration of certain public transport routes.
