Ukrainian foreign minister discusses supplies of Mistral-class warships to Russia with French partners

BRUSSELS. July 23 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin is discussing supplies of weapons to Russia with his European counterparts.

"I think supplies of weapons to Russia in the current conditions go against the European code of conduct," Klimkin told journalists in Brussels on Tuesday.

Klimkin said his French partners and he had discussed the delivery of Mistral-class helicopter carriers to Russia.

"We believe the EU should make important decisions as to what should be done with these deliveries. Surely, this is for the EU to decide, but the EU should show a clear signal of solidarity with Ukraine, and I really hope for such a signal today and in the coming days, because we can't allow the situation to escalate further," he said.
