ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 25 (Interfax) - Fighting is taking place in Ukraine in the area of the customs post Kuybyshevo in the Rostov region, and several shells fired from Ukraine have reached the Russian territory, the press service for the Southern Customs Department told Interfax on Friday.
"Around 1:50 p.m. on Friday, officials from the customs post Kuybyshevo were evacuated to the territory of the checkpoint after several Ukrainian shells exploded on the outskirts of the village of Primiusky in the Rostov region," the source said.
The source said no one was hurt in the incident. According to the press service for the Southern Customs Department, intensive shooting and artillery shots are now heard in the area of the Ukrainian checkpoint Marinovka, which is adjacent to Russia's Kuybyshevo. Some munitions fired from the territory of Ukraine have exploded in direct vicinity of the Russian checkpoint, including in the field and near the motorway connecting the customs post to Primiusky.
The customs post Kuybyshevo has now temporarily suspended its work.
