SCO Dushanbe declaration will call for soonest possible end of bloodshed in Ukraine - Lavrov

DUSHANBE. July 31 (Interfax) - A draft resolution to be adopted by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO) Heads of State Council, due to meet in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan on September 11-12, is expected to address a wide range of issues, including the current situation in Ukraine.

"A solid package of documents will be prepared for a session of the Heads of State Council. A Dushanbe draft declaration is going to be balanced and content-rich. Clearly, certain parts will have to be adjusted in light of the rapidly changing situation. In particular, the Russian side will propose adding to it an appeal in favor of ending the bloodshed and launching a national dialogue in Ukraine as soon as possible," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a meeting with his counterparts from SCO member countries in Dushanbe on Thursday.
