KYIV. Aug 5 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) said on Monday that it had arrested the head of the Public Relations Department of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.
"The Security Service of Ukraine has located and detained Olena Volodymyrivna Blokha, a citizen of Ukraine and a member of the so-called 'government' of the terrorist organization DPR, against whom criminal proceedings were instituted on February 27 of this year under Article 258-3 (creation of a terrorist group or a terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the SBU said in a statement.
Blokha was detained when she "was trying to leave for the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea," it said.
She was charged on Sunday and taken to Kyiv, where she would be in jail, the SBU said.
Meanwhile, Cossack Maj. Gen. Vladimir Mukhtarov was arrested in Luhansk under the same Criminal Code article.
"It has been proved that the so-called ataman of Ukrainian Cossacks has been involved in organizing terrorist groups in Siverodonetsk that afterward participated in the construction of security checkpoints and in doing patrol duty at them, and supplied terrorists with food," the prosecutor's office of Luhansk region said in a statement.
Mukhtarov heads the Siverodonetsk branch of Bohdan Khmelnytsky Cossack Regiment, part of international organization Ukrainian Cossacks.
