MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax-AVN) - Gennady Raikunov, general director of JSC Russian Space Systems, will become vice-president of the United Rocket and Space Corporation (URSC).
"Yes, I have indeed accepted Igor Anatolyevich Komarov's offer to become vice-president of the United Rocket and Space Corporation. I will be in charge of one of the most important tracks, the scientific track. I believe it's a great honor and I regard this appointment as a high evaluation of my work in the space industry," Raikunov told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.
Raikunov recalled that he has headed three major enterprises (TsNIIMaSh, which comprises the Mission Control, NPO Measurement Equipment, and JSC Russian Space Systems) at different points in his career.
"The new post envisages a lot more responsibility, but at the same time, provides much more opportunities. The scale of work is totally different. In addition, I will be able to focus on science. Scientific work has always been my priority," Raikunov said.
