BRUSSELS. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Russia understands NATO's decision to create its expedition force to increase the operative readiness of its contingents for deployment in any place in the world within the shortest period of time possible, Alexander Grushko, Permanent Representative of Russia to NATO, said in an interview with Interfax in Brussels.
"NATO has more than once demonstrated its neglect of international law. For this reason, our attitude to that will be negative if we are talking about operations outside the geographical responsibility of NATO and without the authorization of the UN Security Council," Grushko said.
"We remember the results of military interventions by NATO members, including in Iraq and Libya, which did not lead to stabilization in the name of which those interventions were conducted, but led to even greater destruction of statehood and stage institutions," Grushko said.
