Putin, Russian Security Council members discuss east Ukraine situation - press secretary

MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the permanent members of the country's Security Council on Friday, the president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said.

"The situation in the east of Ukraine was discussed in detail with a focus on the humanitarian catastrophe that is taking place on a disastrous scale there," Peskov said.

"Issues concerning Russia's economic security were addressed as well," he said.
