Kapustin Yar range to get latest trajectory measurement system

MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The Strategic Rocket Forces are working on creating trajectory and signal measurement systems using GLONASS navigation equipment to ensure test launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles, Strategic Rocket Forces spokesman, Major Dmitry Andreyev told Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.

"It is planned to test the promising complex equipped with a new radiolocation station at the state central joint range Kapustin Yar [the Astrakhan region]," he said.

"The complex will operate in single digital automatic system gathering measurement information and to carry out measurements throughout the flight, including in regions not equipped in terms of topographical and engineering regard," Andreyev said.

According to Andreyev, "flight trajectory of intercontinental ballistic missiles being tested will be determined with this system."
