MOSCOW. Aug 22 (Interfax-AVN) - The Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) will devise a Russian lunar base project in 2024, says a draft federal space program for 2016-2025 Roscosmos has presented for government consideration.
"A technical proposal regarding the lunar base must be ready in 2022 and a lunar base initial outline in 2024," the document says.
Working design documents will be available in 2025. Meanwhile, the development of scientific hardware to support the lunar base will begin in 2022 and its ground testing will start in 2024.
The draft program approximately estimates the overall funding of the lunar base project at 2 billion rubles.
