KYIV. Aug 25 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and philanthropist and Open Society Foundations Chairman George Soros discussed the situation in Ukraine in a telephone conversation.
Poroshenko thanked Soros for supporting Ukraine and its democratic development, the presidential press service reported. Poroshenko also highly praised the work being done in Ukraine by the International Renaissance Foundation, which has started activities of consultative groups and bodies to promote reforms in the country.
"Petro Poroshenko and George Soros discussed the introduction of an international financial mechanism for improving Ukraine's investment appeal, reducing financial risks, and reviving economic activities," the press service said.
