MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax-AVN) - A Russian Antonov An-30B observation aircraft will fly above Denmark consistent with the Open Skies Treaty, acting head of the Russian National Nuclear Threat Reduction Center Ruslan Shishin told Interfax-AVN.
"The observation flight will be conducted on August 25-29 from the Open Skies airfield Aalborg on a distance of 1,400 kilometers," he said.
The Russian plane will fly along the coordinated route and Danish specialists will stay aboard to control the use of monitoring instruments and the compliance with the Open Skies Treaty regulations, he said.
The flight will contribute to greater openness and transparency of military activities of Treaty member states and build confidence for security purposes, the officer indicated.
"This is the 25th observation flight conducted by Russia in Treaty member states in 2014," Shishin said.
