KALININGRAD. Aug 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Baltic Fleet marines practiced landing on a coast on Saturday.
The marines disembarked from the large landing ship Alexander Shabalin and Serna-class hovercraft at the Khmelevka range in the Kaliningrad region. Over 80 vehicles of coastal and engineering units and 500 servicemen landed on the shore.
The exercises involved over ten surface ships, hovercraft and support vessels of the Baltic Fleet and seaborne aircraft.
The landing operation was a stage of annual fleet exercises, the fleet press service said. Several days before Baltic Fleet ships held live artillery and torpedo fire exercises and practiced anti-submarine warfare.
The fleet command has lauded their performance. Final results of the exercises will be released upon analysis of maritime, aerial and ground training.
