Putin says it is agreed to resume energy dialogue with Ukraine (Part 2)

MINSK. Aug 27 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he had agreed with his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko to resume consultations on gas issues.

"We believe - both I and President Poroshenko - that we should resume our dialogue on energy issues, gas issues," Putin said after negotiations with Poroshenko.

He admitted the existence of problems and said their discussion was necessary.

"We have agreed to resume the consultations," Putin said.

"Honestly, this [gas issues] is a complicated matter, a stalemate, and it has to be discussed anyway," he added.

"This is why we have agreed to resume these consultations," the Russian president said in conclusion.
