MOSCOW. Aug 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia should be fully independent in the production of elements and components for rocket and space equipment, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said in Moscow while introducing the new head of the company Russian Space Systems to the company staff.
"Russia needs to be fully independent in terms of components, especially the most complex components which are capable of standing special pressures associated with work in space," Rogozin said.
"The only solution is to reduce the possible number of part types in the formation of a unified approach to the development of Russian space instrument engineering," he said.
The situation in this sector is now difficult because every developer has complex software, elements and devices for spacecraft. "It shouldn't be this way," Rogozin said.
"Russian Space Systems should assume responsibility for organizing [this work], including the council of the main space instrument engineering constructors. We see the key role of your organization in that," he said.
