MOSCOW. Aug 29 (Interfax) - Moscow has urged all sides to negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program to not yield to the temptation of making unfounded demands, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"It is imperative in the final stage [of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program] to try to avoid a temptation and some partners of ours have this temptation to bargain against the backdrop of an artificial time crunch for something more than it is necessary for elaborating a balanced and fair package [of accords]," Lavrov said at a Friday press conference, following negotiations with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif.
He also asked the negotiating countries to think not only about their own interests. "It is of paramount importance to be aware of the red lines and to think not only about of one's own interests but also about global tasks, such as the non-proliferation regime, the avoidance of precedents, and this can be done without harming somebody's concrete positions through a measured balance of interests," Lavrov said.
"We are ready for doing so and we will insist on the prevailing of this approach," the Russian foreign minister indicated.
