MOSCOW. Sept 8 (Interfax-AVN) - The French Navy's reconnaissance ship Dupuy de Lome has ended its 21-day mission in the Black Sea and entered the zone of the Black Sea straits, a source in the Russian Navy Central Headquarters told Interfax-AVN on Friday.
"On Friday, the Dupuy de Lome left the Black Sea. It has now entered the zone of the Black Sea straits and heading towards the Mediterranean Sea," the source said.
The ship entered the Black Sea on August 16. "Thus, it did not violate the Montreux Convention whereby ships from the non-littoral states cannot stay in the Black Sea for more than 21 days.
Meanwhile, two NATO ships - the French Corvette FNS Commandant Birot and the U.S. destroyer USS Ross - remain in the Black Sea.
After the crisis broke out in the eastern regions of Ukraine, ships of the U.S. Navy and other NATO countries have been in the Black Sea almost continuously.
