MINSK. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Participants in the contact group talks in Minsk have agreed to establish a special structure for monitoring the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine, Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov told reporters following the contact group meeting.
"A special structure to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement is being formed," he said.
"The ceasefire agreements will be sustainable in nature," Zurabov said.
"There are two versions of the memorandum, one drafted by the Ukrainian side and the other by the DPR and LPR [the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic]. They have a lot of similar points, but there are also differences. We will put together a group of experts within the next three days to harmonize these documents. As soon as a basic document appears, it will serve as the foundation for further negotiations," he said.
Apart from the clause concerning a ceasefire, the contact group's protocol includes 11 other clauses, Zurabov said. "The protocol includes 11 other clauses determining the treaty's configuration, and they contain an answer to the question as to why, if the firing is stopped, all of the principal disagreements between the parties will be resolved," he said.
