Russia agrees to supply Vietnam with SSJ-100 jets

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 8 (Interfax) - At the 17th session of the Russian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission, Russia agreed to supply Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 jets to two Vietnamese aviation companies.

"We have agreed on shipments of the Russian aircraft industry's flagship airplane, the Sukhoi Superjet, to two Vietnamese airlines: Vietnam Airlines and VietJet," Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Viktor Yevtukhov told journalists.

"It seemed talks had hit a deadlock, but Vietnam has announced that it is still interested in this liner. We are really hoping that they will soon be able to fly on safe and comfortable Russian airplanes," Yevtukhov added. He did not say how many planes were agreed upon or when they would be delivered.
