MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - NATO's policy towards Ukraine and conducting its drills in the country will not yield any positive results, said Alexander Grushko, Russia's ambassador to NATO.
"It is obvious that these decisions can by no means facilitate stabilization (in Ukraine); in fact, NATO's role in the Ukrainian crisis has been extremely destructive," he said at a roundtable via video link from Brussels on Friday.
Grushko believes that the Ukrainian crisis was a pretext for NATO consolidation, and NATO's attention towards the situation in Ukraine was dictated by geopolitical interests.
