Verkhovna Rada speaker signs Ukraine lustration bill into law

KYIV. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov has signed into law the lustration bill, which was passed by the Verkhovna Rada on September 16, and has called on President Petro Poroshenko to do the same before the end of Thursday.

Turchynov signed the document at a press conference in the presence of journalists and public activists, an Interfax correspondent has reported.

"As I sign this law, I am asking the president to sign it urgently as well," he said.

Each page of the document has been initialed by its authors and public activists, he added.
