MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Militias in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) are planning to release several injured Ukrainian captives to Kyiv unilaterally, said Darya Morozova who chairs the DPR committee for prisoners of war.
"Indeed we are preparing to release several inured soldiers to Kyiv unilaterally, as an act of good will. This will happen over the next few days," she told Interfax.
She added that the release is not part of the prisoner-exchange scheme.
"With regard to prisoner swaps, these have not resumed yet. This particular event lies outside the exchanges format and does not involve a release of our supporters by Ukraine in return," she said.
