MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has called absurd the allegations of Russia's interference in the Ukrainian conflict made in the UN mission's report on human rights in Ukraine.
"We have been perplexed by absurd claims made with the reference to certain non-governmental organizations and alleging the so-called direct interference of the Russian Federation in the situation in eastern Ukraine," ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said at a press briefing on Thursday in his comment on the report.
The Russian diplomat said he hoped that the next report of the UN experts regarding Ukraine would be more objective.
"Hopefully, the next report, as the current report deals with the period from mid-August to approximately September 16, will present new evidence of crimes of Ukrainian servicemen, including information about mass burials of civilians presumably executed by servicemen after brutal torture, which have been discovered near Donetsk, the ongoing use of cluster munitions against the civilian population, and the death of a worker of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) near Donetsk as a result of the Ukrainian army's bombardment of a residential area," Lukashevich added.
