DONETSK. Oct 27 (Interfax) - The leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic have said thousands of houses in the Donbas region have been destroyed a result of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
"Some 3,500 houses have been damaged as a result of the conflict," DPR Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Kalyussky told reporters.
Active efforts are underway to repair power infrastructure in the region, he said.
"Half of the gas-supply facilities have been repaired," he said.
