Russian inspectors to check British army formation in Tidworth Nov 6

MOSCOW. Nov 6 (Interfax-AVN) - A group of Russian inspectors will visit the 1st Mechanised Brigade of the British Army this Thursday, said Sergei Ryzhkov, the head of the Contract Compliance Directorate at the Russian Defense Ministry.

"On November 6, in accordance with the 2011 Vienna Document on Confidence- and Security-Building Measures, a group of Russian inspectors will visit and assess the British Army First Mechanised Brigade deployed in the town of Tidworth," Ryzhkov told reporters.

"The inspectors will visit the brigade's headquarters at its usual peacetime location," he said.

Also, the formation command will hold a briefing on brigade personnel and the main armament and hardware systems. "Such assessment visits are conducted with the aim of checking information about the armed forces and deployment plans for the main armament and hardware systems," Ryzhkov said.

The brigade assessment visit is being conducted in accordance with the 2011 Vienna Document on Confidence- and Security-Building Measures in order to verify information about the armed forces and deployment plans for the main armament and hardware systems, Ryzhkov said.
