MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - All large fragments of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which crashed in the Donetsk region on July 17, have been removed from the crash site by international experts, self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Supreme Council speaker Andrei Purgin told Interfax on Thursday.
"International experts have removed all fragments, some of which were cut to pieces. Most remains are relatively small pieces of charred aluminum. Local residents are likely to sell them as scrap metal. International experts have acknowledged the transfer of every fragment they need," Purgin said.
Human body fragments were discovered during the collection of personal belongings on the Boeing crash scene, he added. "Six human body fragments were discovered in the collection of personal belongings on the crash site. They were duly packed and handed over to the experts," Purgin added.
The DPR militia is fully controlling the crash site and it is not being shelled from the Ukrainian positions either, he said.
All collected fragments of Malaysia Airline flight MH17, which crashed in the Donetsk region in July 2014, will be taken from Kharkiv to the Netherlands by the end of next week.
