Prosecutor General Chaika: Most Rosaviatsiya training centers poorly equipped

MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has detected serious violations in the activity of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) and aircrew training.

"Systemic violations have been exposed in the activity of Rosaviatsiya in the field of training, knowledge assessment and licensing of pilots and other specialists, including air traffic controllers," Russian Prosecutor General's Office Yuri Chaika said.

"The activity of training centers, most of which are lacking the necessary equipment, has been inadequate. Up to 40% of these training centers are unlicensed," Chaika emphasized.

"Major shortcomings have been exposed in target programs in the field of civil aviation and flight safety," he said.
