Moscow worried about spiraling fighting in Ukraine - Kremlin

MOSCOW. Jan 19 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman has expressed anxiety over escalating fighting in eastern Ukraine.

"Moscow is anxious about the exacerbation of the situation in southeastern Ukraine and the escalation of armed action," Dmitry Peskov told Interfax.

"Undoubtedly, Russia will state its position, namely, of course, its extreme anxiety at the full-scale resumption of hostilities in Donetsk, and at the shelling of residential districts in the city," he said.

"Undoubtedly, this state of affairs by no means helps implement the Minsk agreements and look for a settlement," Peskov said.
