Kremlin: Hostilities resumed by Ukrainian army endanger "Normandy format" summit preparations

MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Hostilities accelerated by the Ukrainian army endanger preparations for a "Normandy format" summit and the summit is hardly possible without such preparatory measures, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov told Interfax.

"The "Normandy format" meeting can take place only in the case of successful preparations. Now that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have resumed the hostilities it is certainly difficult to speak about any success," Peskov said.

Asked whether one may say that preparations for a meeting of the leaders of Russia, France, Germany and Ukraine have come to a complete halt, Peskov said, "That is an incorrect question."
