Lavrov: Attempts to politicize killing of Armenian family by Russian soldier disgusting

MOSCOW. Jan 21 (Interfax) - Attempts to politicize the killing of an Armenian family by a Russian soldier in Gyumri are disgusting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, adding he was sure that allied relations between Moscow and Yerevan would not be harmed by this.

"We see attempts to politicize this situation. They are coming not from the Armenian leadership and not from the Russian leadership. There are quite a few of those wishing to make use of this tragedy to gain geopolitical advantages. This is disgusting, this is unacceptable, and this is unworthy of the proud Armenian people, who, I know, will never fall for such provocation," Lavrov said at an annual press conference on Wednesday.

"We will do all we can to make sure that such things don't happen in the future. I am sure Russian-Armenian relations, which are relations of alliance and strategic partnership, won't be harmed," he said.
