MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Defense Ministry keeps in mind growing information threats and changing forms and methods of armed conflicts in its army development plans, Defense Minister Gen. of the Army Sergei Shoigu said at a sitting of the Ministry Board.
"The nature of armed conflicts has undergone drastic transformations in recent years and external interference in affairs of sovereign states has become more frequent. The role of information warfare is mounting. The Internet and mass media are being actively used to influence the situation. Capacities of reconnaissance, control and attack means are being improved," he stated.
'Therefore, we need to use advanced forms and methods of engagement of the Armed Forces and to take additional measures towards providing troops with high tech weapons and hardware," the minister said.
