MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - The Syrian opposition representatives who took part in the meeting in Moscow were divided on the fate of Syrian President Bashar Assad, Samir Aita, a leader of the Syrian Democratic Forum, said.
"As to the differences on the fate of President Bashar Assad, some meeting participants said they believe there is no Syria without Assad, while others said he bears the main responsibility for what has occurred in Syria," a meeting participant told a press conference on Friday.
"It's only natural that even patriotic opposition had differences about the president as a person," Aita said.
The opposition activist said the fate of Assad had been addressed at the meeting.
"The issue was discussed, but there were no calls saying 'Down with the president,'" Aita said.
