TBILISI. Jan 30 (Interfax) - A NATO training center may open on the premises of the Georgian Defense Ministry's Vaziani base near Tbilisi, Georgian Defense Minister Mindia Janelidze told reporters on Friday.
"We are looking for the prospective location of this center. It could be the Vaziani base," the minister said as he was visiting Vaziani together with NATO Deputy Secretary-General Alexander Vershbow.
Georgian aircraft, tanks and artillery held demonstration exercises for the NATO visitor at the Vaziani base on Friday morning.
Vershbow told reporters earlier that the NATO training center in Georgia would open late this year to coach servicemen from Georgia, NATO member countries and partners.
