MOSCOW/KYIV. Feb 3 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic says 157 civilians were killed during hostilities on DPR-controlled territories from January 24 to January 30.
"According to the official statistics of the Ministry of Health and Forensic Medicinal Service of the Donetsk People's Republic, 157 people were killed in the period from January 24 to January 30, 2015, of whom 123 were males and 34 females," the office of the DPR human rights commissioner said in a statement posted on its website.
In the same period, 104 people were hospitalized with bullet or splinter wounds and 30, including 21 civilians, went missing, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian police chief for Donetsk region claimed that 112 civilians in the region were killed and 219 wounded in attacks from DPR forces in January.
"In fire from militants and in terrorist acts during January alone, 112 civilians, including six children aged between two and 16, were killed and 219, including 18 children, were injured," Vyacheslav Abroskin said on Facebook after he and Zoryan Shkiryak, an adviser to the interior ministry, met with reporters on Monday.
