KYIV. Feb 5 (Interfax) - A visit by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande to Ukraine attests that Europe is expecting Russia to take steps towards compliance with the Minsk Accords on resolving the situation in eastern Ukraine, the United States Secretary of State John Kerry said.
The U.S., President Obama are ready to help all sides to ensure they achieve this result, Kerry said in a joint statement with Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Thursday.
He said that the fact that Merkel and Hollande are also in Kyiv today underscores that the U.S., France, Germany and a number of other U.S. international partners along with Ukraine are urging Russia to take steps of which Kerry has spoken earlier.
