MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - Moscow does not expect U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's visit in the near future.
While Russia has always supported the idea of Kerry's visit to Moscow in principle, no particular arrangements have so far been made for such a visit, and so he will not join German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francoise Hollande in their visit to Moscow on Friday, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said to journalists on Thursday.
Merkel, Hollande, and Kerry will be in Kyiv at the same time on Thursday.
"As concerns Kerry, as far as I know, he has suggested several times that he would like to visit Moscow, and our reaction has certainly been positive, but his trip has still not materialized," he said.
The U.S. initiative on the visit has not been put into practice "for some reason or another," he said.
"As soon as the Americans talked about their intention to come to Moscow, we immediately supported this intention, but this visit has not taken shape practically so far," Ushakov said.
