MOSCOW. Feb 6 (Interfax) - Denis Pushilin, chief negotiator of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) at the Contact Group's meeting in Minsk, has proposed placing a peacekeeping contingent along the line of contact in Donbas.
"In order to ensure a fully-fledged ceasefire, it will be necessary to deploy a peacekeeping contingent along the line of contact that will appear after such a truce is declared, should this happen," Pushilin told the Russian News Service radio station on Friday.
Such a contingent should include representatives of Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which are currently acting as mediators in this negotiating process, he said.
"It might be dangerous to use any other contingent there," Pushilin said.
"Russia and the OSCE are mediators of the negotiating process [in Minsk]. They do not represent our interests in any way," he said.
"Today it is no longer worth speaking about a common political field," Pushilin said, when commenting on the situation surrounding the trilateral Contact Group's meetings in Minsk.
