DUSHANBE. Feb 6 (Interfax) - The murder of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh by Islamic State militants is inhuman and contrary to Islam, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said in a message to Jordan's King Abdullah II.
"We offer you our condolences over this loss and state that such an unspeakable and inhuman act, which is contrary to Islam, will only serve to strengthen our will and determination to further bolster international cooperation aimed at eradicating this heinous plague posing a threat to security and stability in the region and the world as a whole," the presidential press service said, quoting Rahmon's message.
"We are shocked by the murder of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh by the Islamic State extremist and terrorist group," the Tajik leader said.
Moaz al-Kasasbeh, captured by Islamic State militants in December 2014, was burned alive in a cage despite Amman's readiness to exchange him for terrorist Sajida al-Rishawi, currently held in a Jordanian prison. Following the pilot's death, Jordan's authorities said that al-Rishawi would be executed.
