DONETSK. Feb 6 (Interfax) - The militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) registered 55 ceasefire violations in the past 24 hours, Eduard Basurin of the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, told reporters on Friday.
"Two people were killed and four wounded in Donetsk. Fire began in Starobeshevo at 5:00 a.m. Private houses were hit, three trucks and two tractors were destroyed, and the Emergency Situations Ministry building was damaged. There have been six fires in the past 24 hours," he said.
The fighting was most active near Chernukhino, he said.
"Some 50,000 Ukrainian troops were killed," Basurin said.
A man was killed in a recent attack in the city of Dzerzhinsk, Donetsk region, Vyacheslav Abroskin, the head of the region's police, said.
"A man was killed in an attack in Dzerzhinsk in the area of Kostromskaya Street. A woman was injured in Avdiyivka," he said on Facebook on Friday.
According to Abroskin, the militia opened fire on Debaltseve on Friday morning. "The militants began shelling Debaltseve at 5:39 a.m. today. The shelling of the region's populated areas located near the frontline continues," Abroskin said.
